You might want to look into an active remapper like AutoHotKeys. There's no way to remap the key "on the fly" which is what it sounds like you're trying to do. Once a key is remapped (or restored) in the Registry, it doesn't take effect until you reboot. Scan codes are in the source if you need a list, however if you're looking for a remapping that can you can toggle on/off, I can save you time as this is not the solution for you.
